Chopta is only connected via road to the nearby cities. So one is required to travel on the road from Hardiwar or from Rishikesh or GuptKashi to reach Chopta. The trek from Chopta to Tungnath is 3.5 kilometers long. It takes around two to three hours to reach Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple of the country from Chopta. The trekking trail from Chopta to Tungnath is a smooth one but with lots of turns in the pathway and a steady increase in altitude. The paths are covered in lush greenery and offer some of the best views of the mountain ranges of the Garhwal Himalayas.
