Chaani’: a Tamil word that means cow dung, refers to the cooking fuel that was used traditionally in kitchens in rural India. Chaani supports the livelihoods of block printers in rural India by providing design inputs and access to markets. In collaboration with Ashvita, Chaani presents an exhibition of hand block prints on Andhra cotton, Chettinad cotton, kota cotton and Erode cotton saris. All of these saris carry Chaani’s signature geometric patterns. Price of the saris range from Rs. 1300 to Rs. 5250.
