NIRO Perfume Studio has curated a special experience highlighting and celebrating the mystical Jasmine, at Madurai where you will learn and experiment with this flower, it's perfume & its' culinary delights.

Why Madurai?

Jasmine has a unique link to Madurai dating back to 300 B.C. or even earlier. Madurai is the biggest production & trade hub owing to the old age popularity of the flower & the ideally suited topographical conditions.

About the experience:

The heady fragrance, the unique shape and color of the mystical Madurai Malligai (Jasmine) symbolizes love, purity, and contentment and this is what makes the flower so special!

We have carefully planned a unique sensory experience of Jasmine, as it makes its journey from the farm to the perfume bottle. You will also be part of our advanced workshop on perfumery which will further your fragrance journey.

Start the fragrant experience on the farm in the shadows of the Nagamalai hills. Row upon row of Jasmine plants gently beckons you as the dawn breaks. As the air is redolent with the fragrance of the Jasmine, join the farmer's family to delicately pick the buds with reverence.

We follow Jasmine as it makes its way to the market where traders converge from all over the world. Join the hustle and bustle as the buds go to the next step in their journey. By noon the Jasmine is pure white. Speed is of the essence as the Jasmine is transported to distill the aromatic oils. Here is also where the flowers are made into garlands and strings.

With a lot of inspiration from Nature, you will now set out to make your own unique blend of fragrance in NIRO Perfume Studios advanced perfumery workshops. We guide you through the process to capture your inspiration and personality in a bottle to take home with you. With access to over 60 different raw materials, we will dive deep into Fragrance classification, description, composing perfumes, creative techniques, thinking like a perfumer & the understanding of decorating and accentuating your creation.

The body and mind are gradually brought into alignment as you feel and create art with the flowers. Become one with the Universe at the mindful yoga and meditation session. The experience is heightened as you relax with jasmine scented water and oils.

The Jasmine themed gala dinner is where we celebrate together. Learn the stories, history, and people behind the Madurai Mallige (Jasmine). Savor the exquisite taste of Jasmine inspired drinks, food, desserts, and even wine! You will be pleasantly surprised And no trip to Madurai is complete without visiting the Meenakshi temple where the Jasmine garland finally adorns the neck of the Goddess.
