Bhandardara Lakeside Camping

The nearest railway station of Bhandardara is Kasara and Igatpuri. Bhandardara is famous for the lakeside camping near Pune & Mumbai. It also provides a beautiful opportunity for stargazing. Lakeside camping at Bhandardara is very popular.

It is the most fantastic place to simply gaze at the night sky and probably the best stargazing experience you will ever have. If you go in the pre-monsoon period, it is the mating season of the fireflies and the millions of fireflies, glowing in the dark makes it a sight to behold, as if the stars have descended on earth. Departure / Return Location : 

Bank of Maharashtra, Shivajinagar for Punekars and Dadar Railway Station for Mumbaikars. Those who will opt for pickup from Kasara will have to reach Kasara by owners and those who will opt for self-drive ( without any transportation) package will have to join at the campsite.

Check-in Time At Campsite: 4 PM (Day-1)

Check-out Time: 12 PM (Day-2)

Itinerary

Day 01:

Arrive at Bhandardara by 4 -5 PM. Those who will opt for self-drive ( without transportation package have to join directly at the campsite)

Move to the campsite. Go for boating at Bhandardara lake.

Return to the campsite in the evening.

Enjoy the sunset from the campsite or go to an elevated land.

After sunset Bonfire for you.

Enjoy the bounty of tiny twinkling stars/Full Moon on the backdrop of the deep dark sky while soaking the warmth of Bonfire with BBQ.

A basic homemade dinner will be served thereafter. The night stays in tents.

Day 2:

Wake up early in the morning. Enjoy the sunrise at Bhandardara lake.

Have your tea, breakfast and go for a small trek to the adjacent forest or Sandhan valley/Kalsubai half trek if you want or explore.

The guide will be provided to you free of cost.

Start your return journey back to Mumbai or Pune at 10 am. Reach Kasara by 1 pm.

Kids are allowed

Price per kid (kids are defined in the age group of 5-10 yrs). (50% of adult price. )

Below 5 years, kids are free

Things to carry

1. Luggage packed in big good trekking sack, all luggage packed in a plastic bag.

2. Complete spare set of extra clothes & socks

3. Water bottle (min 2 ltr) compulsory

4. Electrical/ Glucon-d energizers and personal Medicine.

5. A sweater/winter wear/rainwear. Wear comfortable clothing during treks (full sleeves).

6. Good trekking/sports shoes (sandals, chappals, floaters not permitted).

7. Torch with an Extra pair of Batteries (must)

8. Camera, Binocular (Optional)

9. Identity proof (self-drive).                                                     

10.Toiletries (Napkin, facewash, tissue paper etc.).

11.Cap, goggles, sunscreen, moisturizer, mosquito repellent, etc.                                                      

12.Sleeping/bedsheet. (Rentals available on demand) campsite the case of camping.

13. Slippers (optional at the end of them so that your feet can relax)
