The Capital City Minstrels (CCM), Delhi's premier performing choir, returns this summer with a compelling programme featuring Gabriel Faure’s Requiem and more music for the soul. The French composer’s seven- section Requiem features some of the most rousing and beautiful melodies he composed and is an unusual version of a Requiem in Western Classical music.

Traditionally a solemn lament for the departed, Faure’s composition is noted for its tranquil outlook on the peaceful and fear-free nature of death. Along with this stirring body of work, CCM will be singing a varied selection of contemporary sacred music, evocative pieces including a magnificent composition of the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic Abun D’bash’Maiyo; the tender melody of 'You Are Mine', the always popular 'You Raise Me Up' and more. CCM concerts always treat audiences to a wide spectrum of choral music and this one, featuring Western classical and contemporary pieces, continues on that journey.
