Manali - Bhrigu Lake Trek

Bhrigu Lake Trek is a best short trek to do in Manali. The trail along the Vashisht ridge presents a spectacular view of PirPanjal mountain peaks. Bhrigu Lake is a lake located at an elevation of around 14,100 ft in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located to the east of Rohtang Pass and is around 6 kilometres from Gulaba village. It can be reached by trekking either from the Vashishth temple, which is famous for its hot water springs, which is close to the town of Manali or from Gulaba village. Actually there is no settlement in Gulaba and is actually an area of the PirPanjal mountain range. It is named after Maharishi Bhrigu.To the Northwest of Bhrigu Lake we get to see Hanuman Tibba, Shikhar Beh, Friendship peak, to the West Kalihani pass, To the East Inderkila, Indrasan and Deo Tibba.

Day1: Delhi to Manali.

Report our Outdoor Expert at Bus Pickup Point and proceed to Manali by Ac Volvo. Have dinner enroute. Overnight Bus journey.

Day 2: Reach Manali, Free day

Arrive at Manali in the morning and transfer to the campsite. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains surrounding. Head out for a short acclimatization walk in the Afternoon post lunch, during acclimatization you will visit Jogani falls, Hidimba Devi Temple, Vashisht which is famous for its hot water spring and Manali market. Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 3: Manali, drive to Kulang (6700ft.), Trek to Moridugh (9500ft.) (5-6 hrs)

After morning breakfast set off from Manali and drive to Kulang, The tiny settlement of Kulang village is 2 km before Palchan and 2 km after Nehru Kund on the Manali - Rohtang highway. The starting point of trek to Bhrigu Lake. The first one and half day trek through Deodar, Oak and Pine forest on gentle slopes. The Moridugh is situated just above Jogini falls. Overnight at Moridugh.

Day 4: Moridugh to Panduropa (11500ft.) (5-6 hrs)

After breakfast leave Moridugh, The trail goes through the forest for few hours than reach above the tree line, from here we get an impressive view of Beas River, Solang valley and numbers of peaks rising above 5500 meters. Reach Panduropa. The Panduropa which refers to Pandavas & Ropa locally means Field used for cultivation. It is believed that once Pandavas stayed at this place. During summer entire slopes or meadows is covered with wild Alpine flowers. After a short break and having some snacks ascend to the ridge from where we get a view of the two peaks rising to the East which are Indrasan and Deo Tibba. Overnight at Panduropa.

Day 5: Panduropa to Bhrigu lake (14100ft.) - Back to Moridugh (9500ft.) (7-8 hrs)
After an early breakfast and collecting pack lunch for the day, we leave for Bhrigu Lake. For first two hours we trek through dense silver oak forest. After reaching at an altitude of approx 10,000ft the forest ends and meadows start. Even in the summer months of April, May and June these meadows are snow-covered. So it gives you a good experience of snow trekking. The trek gives a panoramic view of Manali valley. After spending considerable time at the lake we return to Moridugh where you camp for the night.

Day6: Moridugh to Manali, Overnight bus journey to Delhi (4-5 hours)

On our final morning after breakfast we start walking downhill to the base camp in Manali. In the evening you will proceed to Delhi by Bus. Overnight bus journey.

Day 7: Reach Delhi                                                                  

Reach Delhi by early morning and proceed to your respective return journey plans. Trek Ends.
