As the name goes, Sagar – Sea, and Gad – Fort, this place is a perfect trekking destination for both mountain and sea lovers. Located in Alibaug - a popular tourist destination; Sagargad is a blissful trekking destination that offers a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea from the top. From Khandale village, a few hours of ascending across various waterfalls will take you to the summit. As you reach this gigantic plateau and spend awesome time up there, you’ll enjoy the moment as it’s quite breezy during monsoons. Both Beginners and avid trekkers would love the hike, as it’s picturesque and mesmerizing.

About Sagargad

Shivaji Maharaj won this fort from Adilshah in 1660. Sagargad was one of the forts that were handed over to the Mughals in the Treaty of Purandar. But Shivaji won it back when he escaped from Agra in 1665. Eventually, the possession of this fort was with the British who during 1880s, built retreat homes for their officers at this scenic spot.

Day 1: Sunday, 28th July 2019

05:50 am: Meet the Travel Trikon Team at Kotak Mahindra Bank ATM, near Dadar (E) station

06:00 am: Start our Journey from Dadar

06:15 am: Pick up from K-star Mall, Chembur

06:30 am: Pick up from Sec 17, Vashi (below the flyover)

06:45 am: Pick up from Hotel 3 star, Kharghar

09:00 am: Reach base village and have breakfast

10:00 am: Start the trek

01:00 pm: Reach the top and explore the fort

02:00 pm: Have lunch on top

02:30 pm: Start descend

04:30 pm: Reach base village and enjoy evening snacks with chai

05:30 pm: Start return journey

09:00 pm: Reach Mumbai

Important Information: Dear Trikoners, always remember SHOES are your best companion on a trek! Please wear a good pair of TREKKING SHOES and not sports or running shoes. Make sure they are durable and firm enough to withstand tough conditions. You can carry floaters to wear only after the trek is completed.
