Theatre Basic Course

Theatre Basic level one 45 hours course for adults and young adults (13 years & above) commences from Sunday 5 May at The Circular Square. 

Course coverage: 

- Building a healthy and responsive mind

- Body coordination with mind

- Response to stimuli

- Physical fitness

- Yoga and music in the context of theatre

- Acting and drama games

- Improvisation

- Working with text

- Voice exercises

- Working with an ensemble

- Building confidence

- Fundamental acting techniques

- Monologues

- Dialogues

- Introduction to a different form of theatre (street, intimate)

- Overview of sets

- Lighting and music

- Staging a light production

Class time: Sundays 10 am-1 pm

About facilitator

XpressionZ theatre group was started by a group of passionate MBA graduates in 2008 and ever since has staged around 400 shows across genres and across cities of Mumbai, Hyderabad, Mysore, Bangalore, Dharwad.

They have been recognized and won several awards at different competitions and won hearts and accolades of the audience and also the media. They have also been featured in the leading newspapers like Bangalore Mirror, Deccan Herald, Deccan Chronicle, Times of India, etc.

Prashant Jadenavar, a Ph.D. & an MBA graduate from IBS Hyderabad, who initiated XpressionZ is also a trained theatre artist from NSD and has been in theatre for more than a decade. He writes, acts and directs and is the backbone of XpressionZ.
