UPG's LitFest 2019

Experience the best of events and live performances with artists like Pankaj Tripathi, Spitfire, Dhruv Sehgal, Jay Oza among others. With free workshops and fun activities like fluid art, graphology, macramé and open-mics give the artist within you a chance to express as we provide you with the perfect platform.

 

UPG’s LitFest 2019 is a non-competitive and a non-ticketed festival that promises to turn art into the most memorable experience!

                                

The festival is happening on 28th and 29th November, JRM Grounds, Vile Parle (w).

 

Entry to all events and activities are on first come, first serve basis.

 

 

 

 

 

Event Description

A.     MUSIC

1.      Kalam & Kaagaz Decoded by Spitfire – Witness Nitin Mishra narrate his journey through poetry and rhythm citing his original raps.

2.      Unbox the Beats – Learn beatboxing from the pros, D-cypher and Beatraw.

3.      Music Open Mic – The stage is yours to steal, no competition, no judgements. Get on stage and let loose.

4.      Music Live Performance – Let music take over and witness Nimit Luharuka’s live performance at UPG’s LitFest.

 

B.     WRITTEN LITERATURE

1.      Decode – Decipher the code that is your own handwriting and discover something new about you!

2.      Book Lounge – Want to relax and read a book? Visit our all day bookstore/library.

3.      Author Meet & Greet – Find out what makes a best-selling author, from Ashwin Sanghi himself.

4.      How to write like ttt – The perfect place to be a man of a few words, tips and tricks from ttt.

5.      Author Meet & Greet - Meet Kiran Manral, the creator of two popular blogs and a plethora of books.

6.      The Fourth Estate – Find out what goes into the making of a newspaper with Ushnota Paul.

7.      Story Behind the Story – Panel discussion on screenwriting with Bhavani Iyer, Dhruv Sehgal, Vipul Vig, and Mitesh Shah.

 

C.     SPOKEN LITERATURE

1.      Poetry Workshop – Attend this workshop and hone your poetry writing skills with Spill Poetry.

2.      Poetry Open Mic – The stage is all yours and the audience is here to witness your poetry.

3.      How to be an RJ – Attend our workshop and watch RJ Meha break down the art of being an RJ.

4. 5-7-5 - Learn the art of writing Haiku poems with Dhrupad Karwa, co-founder of HaikuJAM.

 

D.     FILMS

1.      Chalchitra Chowpal – UPG’s LitFest is screening Gamak Ghar, a regional film with Achal Mishra, Abhinav Jha, Anand Bansal.

2.      Cinema in the World of Netflix – A panel discussion on OTT platforms and cinema with Naveen Kasturia, Jessica Sadana, Mayur Puri.

3.      Lights, Camera, Colours! – Learn cinematography from Jay Oza, the man behind Gully Boy, Jodha Akbar and Rang de Basanti among many other.

4.      Reva  UPG’s LitFest offers the best of regional cinema. Be there at our screening to watch Reva, a phenomenal Gujarati film.

  

E.      THEATRE

1.      Dor – A play that will move you and leave you with a mind full of thought. Experience Dor, at UPG’s LitFest.

2.      Mission Improv – Learn the art of improv comedy with Avinash Verma from Improv Comedy Mumbai.

3.      Kinesthesia – Bring out the actor within you with the acting workshop by Casting Bay, Kinesthesia at UPG's LitFest.

4.      Gully Gully Mein Shor Hai – Experience the award winning street play performance by college artists. The play revolves around the perception of menstruation in India.

5.   One Man Army - Be it the knowledge of one person either playing multiple characters or narrating an entire story by themselves, our panelists will explain it all.

F.      FINE ARTS

1.      Fluid Art workshop – Create unique fluid art with Arthav Shah and Jay Chheda and with Flusso.

3.      The Potter’s Wheel – Learn the art of pottery at UPG’s LitFest with A lil Bit of Everything.

4.      Mandala Art – Learn how to express yourself and make your own mandala at UPG’s LitFest. A workshop with Craftilicious Craft.

5.      The Thread Story – Learn to make the perfect knot with Thread Story at our Macrame workshop.

6.      Art Exhibition – Experience the expression of art at our exhibition curated by Strings Attached.

 

G.     DANCE

1.      Nach Le Ve – Dance your worries away with Shazeb Sheikh at this dance workshop.

2.      Nrityakala  Learn classical fusion dance at this workshop with Vaishali Sagar.

3.      QBop – Learn the dance form that is a fusion of various international styles at this workshop conducted by Arunima Dey.
